Dr. Tom Hyde
Dr. Tom Hyde, founder and Senior Partner, opened Hyde Eyecare in 1976. Originally from Bristol, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Carson Newman and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
Known as the “old duck hunter,” Dr. Hyde is active in his profession and community. He is past president of the Morristown Rotary, founding president of Lakeway Ducks Unlimited, past chair of Church Council at First Methodist Church. He has been involved in Boy Scouts as a Scout Master or assistant for 29 years. Dr. Hyde currently serves as Chairman of the Road Commission and has been an elected official for the past 20 years. He is also active in the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.
Dr. Hyde and his wife, Debbie, are active members of First United Methodist Church Morristown. They have a son, Louis, and a daughter, Rachel. His hobbies include duck hunting, duck decoys, genealogy, and he is an avid pilot. Dr. Hyde’s favorite pastime is spending time with his four grandchildren.
